Privacy

First Farm Checklist is a static site with no user accounts and no back-end database. There is nothing to sign up for and no login. We collect the smallest amount of information we can while still keeping the site running well.

Your checklist progress stays on your device

Every box you check, every date you stamp, and every note you type on the checklist is stored only in your own browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device, we can’t see it, and nobody else can either. Clearing your browser data (or using private / incognito mode) will remove it. If you use the site on a phone and a laptop, each one keeps its own separate copy.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate, cookie-less traffic counts — roughly, how many people visited each page in a given week, which sections they scrolled to, and which country the traffic came from. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not build a profile of you across sites. We use it to know whether the checklist is being useful, nothing more.

The suggestion form

The “Add something we missed” button on the homepage sends a small POST to our own server. We only receive what you type into it: the message, and an optional reply-to email address if you provide one. We use that message to improve the checklist and, if you gave us a reply-to address, to write back. We don’t sell it, we don’t share it, and we don’t sign you up for anything.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel keeps short-lived server logs (IP, user-agent, requested URL) for the usual reasons any web host does — abuse prevention, debugging, and rate limiting. We don’t inspect these logs unless something is broken.

Third parties

We don’t embed third-party trackers, ad networks, or social pixels. External links (for example to your state extension service or the FEMA flood map) open on those third parties’ own sites and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

First Farm Checklist is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
